About NTHS Boys Golf

Practice and Tournament Locations
NTHS Boys Golf plays in the spring sports season in the NIAA 1A/2A league, West Division.  Opponents include Coral Academy of Reno, Sierra Lutheran, Yerington HS, Incline HS, Whittell HS, Virginia City and Sage Ridge Academy.  Practices start mid to late February with tournaments beginning in first week of March or as weather allows.  The regular season runs through early May with Regionals and State Championships being played by mid May.​

History of NTHS Boys Golf

2022, 2023 and newly minted 2024 STATE CHAMPS!  NTHS Boys Golf has a tradition of excellence, winning Team state titles the past three seasons with the team's first state championship win coming in 2016.  The team has also earned individual podium honors more than 7 times in the past 6 years including a 1-2 finish in 2023.

Coaching Staff


NTHS Boys and Girls Golf teams are coached by Kirsten Harris, a Level 2 Titleist Performance Institute Certified Instructor, who also coaches the junior golf team at Tahoe City Golf Course.
Assistant Coach Kyle Culbreth brings a ton of experience and expertise to the team, and a passion for keeping the Laker spirit alive!
NTHS Boys Golf practices utilizing simulator time in Tahoe City and at Empire Ranch golf course since our true home course, Tahoe City Golf Course is under snow the majority of the season.  ​

Culture and Playing Ability

While the team boasts many very experienced and high level golfers, we welcome players of all ability levels.   Coaches expect a high level of commitment to the team in terms of practice and tournament attendance but we also love to have fun!
